A controversial British historian who is suing a U.S. Holocaust scholar for calling him a Holocaust denier admitted in a London court that the Nazis systematically gassed 97,000 Jews to death in trucks during World War II. David Irving, whose case against Deborah Lipstadt has drawn worldwide attention, has claimed that it was logistically impossible for the Nazis to have killed millions of Jews in gas chambers and that there is no evidence that Hitler personally approved the Holocaust.
