Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak reportedly opposes his education minister’s proposal to teach the works of a Palestinian poet in high school classes. Barak was quoted as saying that the time is not ripe to teach Mahmoud Darwish. Yossi Sarid’s proposal has threatened to cause another coalition crisis with the fervently Orthodox Shas and National Religious parties.
