More than 700 synagogues and 54 campus Hillels are expected to participate Friday night in Shabbat Across America/Canada. The program is sponsored by the New York-based National Jewish Outreach Program, which has sponsored similar events since 1987 with the goal of increasing observance among unaffiliated Jews.
