President Clinton plans to send Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to the Middle East to narrow gaps in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. Clinton said both sides “have to be prepared to make an intense effort and to do things that they have not done in the past.” Clinton also said he plans to meet with Arafat in Washington soon.
