The death of Syrian President Hafez Assad could help investigators find a Nazi war criminal believed to be hiding in Damascus, said a leading Nazi-hunter. Serge Klarsfeld made his comments regarding Alois Brunner, a top aide to Adolf Eichmann who allegedly helped organize the murder and deportation of 130,000 Jews during World War II.
