Prague’s Jewish Community is using the Internet to explain the background of one of Europe’s oldest Jewish burial sites, which has recently been the focus of controversy. The community is using the Prague Jewish Museum’s Web site to cover the history of negotiations regarding the cemetery on Vladislavova Street, owned by an insurance company that is building an office at the site in the face of Jewish protests. The news section of www.jewishmuseum.cz also features the community’s past statements on the issue and an official archaeological report on the cemetery.
