Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak denied reports that Israel and the Palestinians had drafted any portions of a final peace agreement. Barak’s remarks to the Cabinet came after Interior Minister Natan Sharansky charged that Israel’s position had been formulated and included ceding control of parts of Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley to Palestinian control. Sharansky sent Barak a letter over the weekend threatening to resign if Israel does not change its positions on these lands.
