Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s government appeared to be collapsing on the eve of an Israeli-Palestinian peace summit in the United States. Three coalition members, Shas, the National Religious Party and Yisrael Ba’Aliyah, announced they are submitting their resignations. Barak’s office said he will nonetheless attend the summit.
