A group of Syrian Jewish immigrants may soon be one step closer to U.S. citizenship as a result of legislation in Congress. The measure introduced in the U.S. House by Rep. Rick Lazio (R-N.Y.), a candidate for U.S. senator from New York, would grant green cards for up to 3,000 Syrian Jews who came to the United States in the early 1990s.
