About 150 teen-agers from the former Soviet Union arrived in Israel last week as part of the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Selah and Chalom programs designed to absorb teen-agers through study programs. In September, an additional 850 young people will join these programs. More than 1,000 of the 1,310 new immigrants who arrived in Israel last week were from the former Soviet Union, according to the Jewish Agency.
