Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said he is hopeful that American support will help Israelis and Palestinians reach an agreement by Sept. 13. Mubarak’s comments came before he met with President Clinton in Cairo to discuss ways to break the logjam in the peace process. Clinton is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat next week in New York.
