U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen warned that violence between Israelis and Palestinians could spin out of control, taking with it remaining hopes for peace. “We have to get back to the bargaining and negotiating table to secure a fair and just and lasting peace,” Cohen said before talks with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
