A U.S. judge appointed former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker to oversee the payment of compensation to Holocaust victims who deposited money in Swiss banks during World War II and never got it back. Under a distribution plan the judge approved last month, $800 million has been set aside to cover dormant account holders from a $1.3 billion settlement that Swiss banks agreed to pay Holocaust families.
