Israeli President Moshe Katsav called on settlers not to retaliate after Palestinian gunmen killed far-right leader Binyamin Ze’ev Kahane and his wife on a West Bank road. Katsav issued the call after the Yesha Council, which represents settlers in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, said it planned to take action beginning Monday to keep the “murderers off the roads.”
