The president of Cuba’s Parliament called for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the creation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Speaking in Havana at a meeting of legislators from around the world, Ricardo Alarcon also said Israel “should take the necessary measures to stop the brutal repression of the Palestinian people.”
