Russian President Vladimir Putin called for a crackdown on racists. He told his Cabinet that such acts were becoming more frequent. “For Russia, a multiethnic country, this is absolutely unacceptable,” he said. His comments followed a series of attacks last Friday, when skinheads marked Hitler’s birthday.
