One out of five Israelis lives in poverty, according to a new report. According to Israel’s National Insurance Institute, which presented its annual poverty report Monday, some 1.17 million Israelis, or 34 percent of Israeli families, live in poverty, an increase of more than 32 percent from 2001 totals.
