Yasser Arafat criticized an Israeli plan to take control of lands linking Hebron to the nearby settlement of Kiryat Arba. “This is a big crime,” the Palestinian Authority president said Monday of the proposal, which Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suggested after Palestinian gunmen killed 12 Israelis last Friday as Jewish worshipers left the Tomb of the Patriarchs.
