An Israeli firm is working to produce a system that will protect passenger planes from missiles such as those used in a failed attack last week in Kenya. The system, developed by the Israeli government-owned Rafael Industries, senses an incoming heat-seeking missile and sends out a hot beam of light that diverts the missile away from the plane.
