A Palestinian official denied Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s claim of holding secret talks with top members of the Palestinian Authority other than Yasser Arafat. Saeb Erekat said Sharon made the claim over the weekend as part of his election campaign and should not be taken seriously.
