New ads on TV news stations in Washington demand a re-examination of U.S. policy toward Israel. The ads are sponsored by the Council for National Interest, which calls for a reduction in U.S. aid to Israel and recognition of a Palestinian state. The ads ask viewers to call the White House and urge it to oppose the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
