President Bush is expected to announce new faith-based initiatives Tuesday night in his State of the Union address. Jim Towey, director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, said the president would continue to push for more federal funds for social service programming within religious institutions, both through legislation and executive orders.
