Russian President Vladimir Putin’s pledges not to tolerate extremism have gone unfulfilled, according to a human rights group. In a report on Russia’s human rights record for 2002, the Moscow Helsinki Group on Tuesday questioned the Russian government’s pledge to crack down on violence and ethnic and religious discrimination.
