A group of rabbis protested against a Muslim member of New York City’s Human Rights Commission at the body’s first meeting. Rabbis from the activist group Amcha — the Coalition for Jewish Concerns are upset that Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Omar Mohammedi, general counsel to the Council of American Islamic Relations, to the commission. AMCHA, along with the Anti-Defamation League, says CAIR has links to Hamas.
