The Center for Jewish History in New York is planning to expand upward. The museum, which sits in a tree-lined street in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, is launching a six-floor vertical addition on Sept. 29. “We are realizing the dream of creating the first ‘Library of Congress of the Jewish People,’ ” said the center’s chairman of the board, Bruce Slovin.
