Israel reportedly is the third biggest arms exporter in the world. In a ranking of arms exporters by the U.S. weekly Defense News, Israel placed third in 2002 sales, behind the United States and Russia, The Associated Press reported. Of Israel’s $30 billion in 2002 exports, weapons amounted to $4.1 billion, up from $2.6 billion a year earlier, Israeli Defense Ministry figures showed.
