The United States should “empower” Israelis and Palestinians who negotiate freelance peace initiatives, President Clinton says. The recent “Geneva accord” and a petition drive for peace “prove that Israelis and Palestinians of goodwill can agree on even the most vexing settlement issues,” Clinton said in an op-ed piece published Wednesday in USA Today.
