The highest-ranking Hispanic lawmaker in Congress pledged to strengthen Latino-Jewish ties. Rep. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), head of the Democratic caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, on Jan. 30 told a regional dinner of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee that he would redouble efforts to strengthen cooperation between Jews and Latinos.
