Jewish groups praised the U.S. Senate for expanding its definition of hate crimes. The Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act, which passed the Senate on Tuesday as part of the Defense Department Authorization bill, would expand the definition of hate crimes to include crimes targeting someone’s sexual orientation, disability or gender.
