A federal court convicted a Palestinian-born imam of lying about his ties to terrorist groups when he applied for U.S. citizenship. Fawaz Damra, imam of Ohio’s largest mosque in Cleveland, could face five years in jail, deportation and loss of citizenship for lying about his ties to Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terrorist groups when he became a citizen in 1994.
