Israel’s Labor Party filed a motion of no-confidence Tuesday in Ariel Sharon’s government. Filed over socioeconomic matters, the motion officially ended the safety net Labor had given the Israeli prime minister since the Cabinet approved Sharon’s Gaza withdrawal plan.
