Israeli forces killed the head of the Al-Aksa Brigade in the West Bank. Nayef Abu Sharakh was shot dead in his Nablus hideout Saturday, along with the city’s leading Hamas and Islamic Jihad chiefs. After a four-day sweep of Nablus, Israeli forces began withdrawing from the city Sunday.
