The BBC appointed a Middle East editor for the first time to oversee the corporation’s coverage of the region. The corporation’s Mideast coverage has been fiercely criticized by some for an anti-Israel bias. Award-winning veteran BBC journalist Jeremy Bowen, who was a correspondent in Jerusalem between 1995 and 2000, will now providing key analysis, focus and commentary on the situation.
