An Israeli soldier who killed a British activist in the Gaza Strip was jailed for eight years. Wahid Taysir, a volunteer from Israel’s Bedouin Arab minority, was sentenced by a court martial Thursday to 10 years in prison for manslaughter and another 18 months for obstruction of justice but was told that three-and-a-half years of the sentence would be suspended.
