The Jewish Museum in Prague produced a video clip to discourage neo-Nazism among young Czechs. The short commercial features the song “I Can’t Understand” by the Czech band The Tchendos. The song is mixed with snippets of an interview with Auschwitz survivor Anna Hydrakova-Kovanicova, who recalls details of her experience and expresses disbelief that some people still hate Jews.
Ukraine’s president participated in a Chanukah ceremony in Kiev’s central synagogue. In what has become an annual tradition since he ran for president three years ago, Viktor Yuschenko made an appearance Wednesday in the Brodsky Synagogue to celebrate Chanukah.
