Neo-Nazi band charged

A German neo-Nazi music group was charged with inciting hate after a police raid in five German states. One of the band’s songs calls the Holocaust the “liberation of Germany.” The band members of Deutsch, Stolz, Treue — or German, Proud, Loyal — have denied the charges, according to reports in the German Press Agency. Police said there are other charges pending against the group. The State Office of Criminal Investigation described the raid as a serious hit at Germany’s right-wing extremist scene. Undercover agents also are keeping an eye on producers and distributors of the band’s 2005 album, “The Answer to the System,” as well as on shops that sell such items, Police Chief Dieter Glietsch told reporters. Nearly all of the group’s CDs were confiscated in the raids, as well as T-shirts with Nazi emblems, a pump shotgun and buckshot.
