Pope Benedict XVI will meet a Brazilian rabbi during his first visit to Brazil. The pope will meet Thursday with Reform Rabbi Henry Sobel of Latin America’s largest synagogue, a 2,000-family temple called CIP.The meeting will be part of a five-day visit to Sao Paulo, where the pope will canonize the first Brazilian saint and open the fifth General Conference of the Episcopate of Latin America and the Caribbean.
