Israel’s Supreme Court postponed implementation of Omri Sharon’s prison sentence.

Sharon, a son of former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, was meant to have begun his seven-month jail term for violating election-funding laws next week. But the Supreme Court on Sunday issued a stay after Sharon filed for permission to appeal the sentence.

The State Attorney’s Office now has two months in which to respond to the former Likud lawmaker’s motion.
