The family of an Ecuadorian kibbutz volunteer slain by a Palestinian sniper has no regrets about him going to Israel, his sister said.

Diana Mosquera, whose 20-year-old brother Carlos was shot dead Tuesday while working the fields at Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha outside the Gaza Strip, said he had enjoyed his experiences in Israel despite the difficulties.

“Under no circumstances do we regret the fact that he went to Israel. He realized a dream,” Mosquera told the Israel Hayom newspaper Wednesday.

“He wanted to learn about Israeli society. He wanted to be part of it, to know it, to experience it,” she said.

Agricultural labor was hard on Carlos, Mosquera added, “but he was content.”
