A rocket seriously wounded two brothers, 8 and 19, in Sderot.

The rocket launched Saturday night by terrorists in the Gaza Strip nearly severed the legs of the younger boy, authorities said. The brothers were rushed to a hospital in nearby Ashkelon, where they were listed as seriously wounded.

Within hours an Israeli missile fired by a combat plane killed a local leader of the Hamas terrorist group in Rafah, in southern Gaza. Authorities said he was involved in smuggling arms from Egypt.
