Four Temple University students were accused of a hate crime on the Philadelphia campus, police said.
Philadelphia police issued arrest warrants for the students, who allegedly punched a non-Temple student outside the former house of Alpha Epsilon Pi, an international Jewish fraternity, on Feb. 15. The victim’s nose was broken and an eye socket was fractured, according to a televison news report.
According to the report on Fox 29, which quoted Temple police, the alleged assailants then yelled out to the young man and his friend, “We hate Jews! We hate Jews!”
The four students have been suspended from Temple pending the outcome of a disciplinary committee meeting, Temple President Ann Weaver Hart said in a campuswide memo. The committee and the university’s security service investigated the case, she said.
