Basketball legend Julius Erving lauded Israel as an inspiration for Jews in America and other minorities.
Erving, popularly known as Dr. J., made the remarks Wednesday during his goodwill tour of Israel while meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres.
Erving and fellow Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry are in Israel on behalf of the Migdal Ohr youth village for underprivileged children in the North.
