Omri Sharon’s jail term cut

Ariel Sharon’s son Omri, who is in jail for illegal campaign financing, will get time off for good behavior.

The former Israeli lawmaker won an appeal Monday to cut his seven-month prison sentence by one-third, and is therefore due to go free on June 25.

Sharon, one of the former Israeli prime minister’s two sons, went to jail in February after being found guilty of illegally funding his father’s 1999 run to lead the Likud Party.
