Australian removes swastika flag after AG visit

An Australian resident has removed a swastika flag from his garden after a personal visit from the state’s chief lawmaker.
South Australian Attorney General Michael Atkinson rode his bicycle, with the Australian flag flying, to visit the shaven-headed man on Tuesday after a furor erupted when the swastika flag was aired on national TV.
The Adelaide resident, who is known simply as “Will”, then swapped the swastika for an Australian flag, saying it was installed during a drunken party and never dismantled.
The Premier of South Australia, Mike Rann, slammed the stunt. “Anyone who flies the Nazi flag, in my view, is un-Australian,” he said.
Australia has no law preventing Nazi propaganda being displayed in public, but has racial vilification laws that prevent the incitement of racial hatred.
