JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Kassam rocket struck the western Negev about a half-hour before polls closed.

The rocket fired from Gaza Tuesday evening caused no injuries or damage. The Color Red siren sent area residents into shelters and protected areas.

Israeli officials had been concerned that rocket fire would disrupt elections.
