JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli airstrikes hit a smuggling tunnel on the Gaza-Egypt border following Kassam rocket attacks on southern Israel.
Israel’s attack on the smuggling tunnels late Monday morning, the second since Friday, was in response to Kassam rocket attacks on the western Negev from the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces.
Two Kassam rockets were fired on Monday morning. No injuries were reported, but the attack damaged a cactus field. Another rocket landed late Sunday evening.
