We are hearing whispers that the annual General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America might be in the midst of a surprise venue switch.

The 2010 GA has been set to take place in Orlando next November, but now the buzz is that officials at Jewish Federations have decided to move the event to New Orleans instead.

An official for the North American arm of the network of local Jewish federations declined to comment. But the executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, Michael Weil, said that the switch is a possibility.

"I think it is premature, but we are having conversations," Michael Weil told The Fundermentalist.

Apparently New Orleans had been a discussed as a destination for the 2012 GA, but it will now become the spot in 2010.

We are looking into the reasons behind the change.

Developing.
