Emma Bloomberg, the oldest of the mayor’s two daughters, is a program officer at the Robin Hood Foundation.

What was your dad’s reaction when you told him what you will be doing?
My father was very supportive. He has always made my sister and I aware of how important philanthropy is to him, and as a result it’s something that’s become very important in both of our lives. He probably didn’t expect me take up philanthropy full time, but he feels one should do what they love and is proud of me.
