The Forward this morning released its latest Forward 50, its annual list of whom it deems are the 50 most influential American Jews.

- Sergey Brin, the Google co-founder who gave $1 million to HIAS as he began to plot out his philanthropic course this year.
- Misha Glaperin, the former D.C. federation exec who has signed on to work as Natan Sharansky’s second in command in reforming the Jewish Agency.
- Sara Berman, the daughter of Michael Steinhardt who has become the leading force in the Hebrew charter school movement.
- Ruth Messinger, the CEO of the American Jewish World Service.
- Daniel Sokatch, the former San Fran federation exec who is now the new CEO of the New Israel Fund.
- Rebecca Vilkomerson, the power behind Jewish Voice for Peace.
- Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers union.
- Jennifer Gorovitz, who succeeded Sokatch in San Francisco to become the first woman to head a major Jewish federation.
- Alexander Rapaport, who started the Masbia kosher soup kitchen in Boro Park, Brooklyn.
- Lynn Schusterman, who gives away some money to Jewish causes. (And who became a major force in the LGBT movement this year, when she said she would not give to those who are not inclusive.)
- Daniel Sieradski, the former JTA director of digital media and now digital strategist at Repair the World, who is creating platforms for the DIY Jewish movement.
- Michael Rosenzweig, the director of the newly openened National Museum of American Jewish History.
- Shamu Sadeh, the director of Adamah and a leader in the Jewish food movement.
- Steve M. Cohen and Leonard Saxe, the diametrically opposed Jewish sociologists who I am sure are thrilled to be sharing a split photo and entry.
- Jerry Silverman, he Jewish Federations of North America CEO who helped quell the conversion disaster in Israel.
