Shel Silverstein
Shel Silverstein, the author and illustrator best known to children for his book The Giving Tree, about a generous tree who gives everything he has to the boy who played on him as a child, has another title to add to his roster, posthumously of course. (Silverstein died in 1999.) A book of his poetry, entitled Everything On It, has just been released. [NPR]
Here is perhaps the best interpretation of The Giving Tree from the Sassy Gay Friend (with a cameo by To Kill a Mockingbird‘s Boo Radley!).
